Presentation of the Dojo Method, or the seven laws of presence, that Pol Pelletier created at
the actors’ Dojo, training and improvement centre for performance artists (1988-2001). This
internationally-known method has been taught in many countries, like France, Brazill, Australia,
Denmark, and Mexico. In this presentation, Pol Pelletier will conduct an exercise designed to
help understand the passage from a normal state to the state of presence and the laws that
govern it. She will make links between theatre and poverty: how to do poor theatre—that is to say
inexpensive theatre—and how to offer theatre to the least advantaged.
