What happens at the Montreal Anarchist Bookfair?


The Anarchist Bookfair – Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27- takes place in two buildings, which are across from each other: i) the Georges-Vanier Cultural Center (CCGV) (2450 Workman) and ii) the CÉDA (2515 rue Delisle), an adult education and community center based in Little Burgundy/St-Henri, across from the CCGV. -> Participants from all over Quebec and North America, booksellers and vendors, workshops, films, discussions, kids’ activities, art exhibits and more!
-> Part of the month-long Festival of Anarchy held throughout May 2017 at venues and locations all over the island of Montreal.
-> During this year’s Bookfair, tabling will take place over two days: May 26-27, between 10am and 5pm.

at the CEDA, 2515 rue Delisle (métro Lionel Groulx)The Montreal Anarchist Bookfair is opening TODAY, Friday, May 27 from 6pm-9pm!This year, we feature a “mini-Bookfair” with selected participating groups (including the Beehive Collective, PM Press AK Press and others). The mini-Bookfair will take place on the 1st floor of the CEDA. You can be among the first to get a Bookfair t-shirts and/or our silkscreened posters.

On the 3rd floor* there will be the opening of Art & Anarchy. As well, there will be a special screening of films by Projection Insurgées. Continue reading

Workshops & Presentations

justtreenotextsmallWorkshops that explore topics related to anarchism in some depth, as well introduction to anarchism workshops, take place during both days of the Montreal Anarchist Bookfair. Our schedule in brief is included below, followed by more detailed descriptions.

The content this year includes four (4) introduction to anarchism workshops (2 each in English and French), two (2) Art & Anarchy workshops, an Anti-Racist Struggles Theme Room (May 28 & 29), a Kids, Caregivers & Comrades Theme Room (Saturday, May 28), and an Autonomous Media Room (Sunday, May 29).
